.ORG Original Compilation

Postby noah » Thu Apr 05, 2007 9:11 am

Alright, here goes:

1. Design. Vote? Or maybe just decide on someone to do it?

2. Submitting Songs. You guys can send your songs to me via email, yousendit, or any way really. If you have an FTP site you want me to go in and snag it from, I'll do it. If we are sending WAV's, then please use yousendit or an FTP site or something. a 16bit WAV at 44.1 is about 10MB per minute. June 30th will be the deadline to get your song in for the comp. I'll post all the songs I've received and we can figure out a good track list.

4. Manufacturing/Publishing. I really think using Kunaki will give us all a really nice package for a great price. Especially since we'll be able to order however many we want whenever we want. I can take care of all of it, and here's how it works - I'll upload the design and it will give me a preview of what the CD will look like (front, back, disc, inside cover). Next, it will ask me to pop in the CD that i want manufactured. It will get all the information from it, and add it to the design info. After that, we can start ordering as many as we want.

5. Shipping. Someone (if it's me that's fine) has to send all the CD's to the people who wanted one.

Thoughts?

So start working on your songs and send them my way :)

question: did we decide about content for the songs? corny kinda got me thinking - are the songs in some way supposed to be related to or inspired by something of dave's? or is this simply a compilation of work from the musician fans who frequent .org?
I'm surprised this place still exists.

I don't own a studio. How should go about recording this?

Well, at least there's a title now.

I really think forcing a reference to something .org or Dave related is a terrible idea. So much so that I won't be participating if that becomes the rule. I am okay with having to write a song specifically for the comp though.
I'm just one too many mornings and a thousand miles behind.

since quality isn't important, I will take the neumann I was going to use and tossel it in a bucket of sand before recording. This is how the big studios get a gritty recording.
