Denver - 2/11/2019

Dudes. I was so hyped to see this show and it did not disappoint. Look at this setlist: https://www.instagram.com/p/BtwLBACg0op

Tomberlin is just beautiful. Don't miss the opener if you are seeing a show on the west coast. Just don't.

Pedro sounded really tight, especially during transitions, which I was surprised by because it's only the third show. Warming up and all takes effort, time, etc. I love the way the album sounds more rock and roll live. But basically every song crossfades into the next, there is no silence between most tunes. Very different vibe if yoau are expecting Pedro from 2004.

It was really everything I wanted it to be. Dave kills on bass. Although it was funny, and I'm sure intentional, cause he put the drum set up against the edge stage left, guitar stage right, and Dave kinda hung back in that pocket between. Had good stage position. I thought to myself, if he did a Q&A and I could request a song, what would it be? I said The Fleecing, and they played it. Gas and Matches is unbelievable. And the show closes perfectly with Quieter Friend (which was my other hope/prediction). The only track from Phoenix they didn't play was Tracing the Grid.

In short, it was a really good show.

OH.

And most importantly, perhaps - I got to meet Bob. EPIC DOT ORG SHOWDOWN

Turns out (!), he's a really nice guy. I was grateful we got to talk for a bit, I really enjoyed it.

Can confirm. Met him in SF after the Overseas show way back in 2014.

Right on.

Imma type up the setlist in case image goes bye bye. I bet he was able to add a number songs to the setlist by not doing Q&A and seamless transitions.

Teardrops was a new, faster arrangement right? I liked it.
