I moved to Carrboro (next to Chapel Hill), NC just under two weeks ago. Dave is always tending bar when I go have a drink at OCSC.

I don't think you really should hate it. cek is pronounced "check".

but also, do you know what it is about you (neurologically) that causes you to read .org posts aloud? that is curious. in the twenty-or-so years that i've been here i've never once had the urge to orate posts.

paste! you're one of my (and i'm sure the board's) all time favorites. we've missed you. do you still make guitars?

Generally speaking I read everything "aloud" in my mind. Pronunciation, speech patterns, spelling, etc. are as much as part of communication to me as whatever the letters that make up the words imply alone. I don't know if this comes from my obsession with reading and writing but whether it's a novel or a textbook or a post from dot org, I hear it in my head.

I've always pronounced cek as "sek" in the imagined pronunciation part of my brain.

BPP! I would like to be IdrisElba-ing some guitars, but I am terrible at finishing things. I still sort of have my shop set up in an upstairs bedroom, but most evenings when I get home from work, I like hanging out with my kid and wife and trying to give her a little bit of a break. Also, my little girl would be pounding on the door the whole time I was in there as she is fascinated with tools. But also, the band takes up all my other spare time now, I kinda knew that when I joined so it was a bit of a trade off.

Speaking of luthierin', if you like guitars you should check out the company my buddy started. He's in India teaching ex-drug addicts how to build guitars, and they are sweet. http://dehradunguitars.com/ http://vimeo.com/user14977553

I caught my daughter trying to eat some paste the other day. I have no one to blame but myself.

I read the posts aloud in my head as well. I knew it was pronounced "check," but only because I met him once and he told me so.

Hi, pastey.

Oh hi!! No kids here yet either, how LAME would that be ;-)

This forum is a strange catalog of my existence.. I got on here when I was an angsty high school senior who was just forced to move to Arizona. So many faces and places since then.. now I'm 28, I can't exactly say that I've accomplished anything too great or worth talking about even.. in fact, screw this board for reminding me of how I haven't done anything with my life yet! :(
