Ender's Game

Postby SkeletonRock » Sun Nov 03, 2013 11:04 pm

Anyone see it yet?

I'm a massive fan of the book, and fully expected to hate the movie version. It certainly suffers from following such movies as the Harry Potter stuff and the Hunger Games, and you can see that the studio wanted something in that vein. However, I was surprised at how truthful to the book most of it was and I thought it was surprisingly great. It's not substitute for the book and the emotional moments are rather shallow compared to it, but still, I really enjoyed it.

Pretty much feel the same. They cut most of the subplots; without Ender's internal monologue it's hard to convey the emotional depth and impact of the story; but they did a decent job and I was thoroughly entertained. IMAX rulez.
