For the first time again?

Postby RoyGBiv » Tue Nov 08, 2005 7:00 pm

Does anyone ever get caught off guard by a Pedro or Headphones song, as if it's the first time you've heard it? I was almost home tonight and I flipped to the first slot in my CD changer and it was a live Pedro show. Magazine came on as I was pulling into my driveway and I had to sit in my parking space for a few minutes, captivated, wanting to hear more, not able to turn it off. I seem to do that with some Headphones songs too. Weird. Am I alone in this?

I get that after ignoring an album for awhile.

AH is doing it to me right now, namely Simple Plan, Start w/o me, Trans.

Not sure why.

Bands with managers did it to me a few months ago big time

The only reason I feel secure does that alot.. I almost love "ignoring" it for a while so I can really appreciate it when I do listen to it

holy crap, i listened to winners straight through on my ipod last week and i think i decided it's my favorite ptl album. i always criticized it (and had heard it criticized) for not being a consistent enough collection of songs, but I realize now the reason i'm in love with it is because it's all over the place. it opens so well with slow and steady and reaches some really tangible emotions throughout. It's one of the few cd's i own that still sorta gives me goosebumps. holy shit, mind of her own, sheesh.

I was walking to class this morning and "almost there" came on from the cornerstone 01. Was pretty fantastic. Everytime i hear that song it is like the first time all over again.
