Digital covers EP

Postby andrewswafford » Tue Apr 30, 2013 10:22 am

http://www.undertowstore.com/product/ba ... nt-5-songs

New, solo acoustic, studio recordings of Dave's favorite covers.

Tracklist:
April The 14th Part 1 (Gillian Welch cover)
Flirted With You All of My Life (Vic Chesnutt cover)
Packt Like Sardines In A Crushed Tin Box (Radiohead cover)
The Man In Me (Bob Dylan cover)
Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover)

Unfortunately there's no immediate digital download, so we have to wait until the physical download code ships out along with the art print on May 7th. I'm still very excited, though--I love all these tunes by both Dave and their respective artists. I wonder if digital downloads are going to be more common for Dave's music from now on?

Ah, please tell me you're talking about the one that was in an old house or something and had really low rafters near the stage. Good times...

Got mine today! It's fantastic, especially the recording of Packd Like Sardines. (EDIT: and the reverb at the end of Hallelujah! Holy shit)

Does anyone have good quality MP3s of the electric Hallelujah/Man in Me recordings that were on vinyl and iTunes? Considering I've bought Curse Your Branches twice on different formats, I feel like it wouldn't be a terrible thing to pirate the iTunes-only tracks. Besides, fuck iTunes anyway, right?

I mean... if the song can be purchased, buy it. It's pretty basic. That's the best I can do.

The Man in Me is an "album only" track, which means that I'd have to pay $10 for the one song I don't already own. Also, Hallelujah was vinyl only, and is now sold out.

Would you pay $10 to hear a song you really, really wanted to own and hear forever? I would.

stop being a dick. David isn't going to get any off that $30 (and i'm pretty sure the 7" came free with pre-orders, so he wasn't getting anything for it anyway). and it sounds like he wanted to hear the songs on his laptop/iPod so vinyl wouldn't be much help. also, they aren't even David's songs, they're covers, so, correct me if i'm wrong, but he'd have to give away the majority of any money he made on those tracks to royalties.
