It's so good. And it feels like one complete work/vision.

Can't wait to see the band pull this off live.

I love it! There is something very familiar and comforting in the midst of a thing that feels so new. Thanks for creating and sharing.

There are a lot of nods to previous works both lyrically and musically. Like little Easter eggs.

I am loving this aspect. So many things to enjoy. Does anyone else hear the Let Down guitar riff in Circle K @ 3:00?

Yes and yes and yes.

The lyrical references are pretty direct and easy for us to identify.

There seem to be musical references to basically every project Dave has ever been a part of, from PTL to Headphones to Bazan, and those are what I’m having the most fun with.

Throw some sleigh bells behind “Piano Bench” and it could fit right into any Bazan Xmas release.

Drums on “Circle K” are very “Don’t Change”esque.

“Black Canyon” gives me “Cold Beer...” vibes, as does the melody at the end of the chorus of “Clean Up” ‘nobody else does’ = ‘nature advances’

“My Phoenix” feels like it could’ve been on Winners...

But none of it feels cheap or lazy. The way he tied it all together is wonderful. The album is not only referential to his past, but also to itself, with several recurring themes and phrases.

It makes the album drip with nostalgia for fans... while the album simultaneously is extremely nostalgic for Bazan on a personal level because it's a return to Pedro AND a return to his childhood.

the album is like a prequel to the entire Pedro the Lion catalog.
