Yeah, that song is really nice. "Ill at Ease" and "Impermanent Record" are still my favorites from this series, but there have been a lot of winners.

Re: Bazan Monthly - Vol. 1 (lyrics)

I think these are about right, but welcome suggestions/corrections. "Disappearing Ink" I recreate in the usual way Shut some breakers off but not the whole box Next day I fake til the fog finally abates Again at risk of being bored by cruel thought Am I asleep? Am I awake? And why am I ask...

Re: Stereogum on Mark Kozelek as Troll

Yeah it weirds me out how much people like Benji. Good enough record, but probably in the bottom third of RHP/SKM/MK releases. Lost in the Dream meanwhile is a big step up for a band that was already pretty good.

Yeah, this is depressing, and y'all know I am a huge fan. You can go on Sad Reminders, and even most of the people there won't really defend it.

I'm in State College, about 2 hours away. I'm considering the Bazan show on Sunday night although my car is in kinda rough shape right now.

Getting Logged Out

Does anybody else have the problem with being arbitrarily logged out even when the Keep Me Signed In box is checked? It honestly is probably one of the reasons I post less than I used to. I would say I probably get logged out once a week, at least.

Re: So what's new?

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I was in Malibu from Monday to Wednesday. Thursday I drove up to Big Sur where I stayed for two days. Now I'm in Santa Monica, I'm flying back to Pittsburgh tomorrow at 1. How much longer are you in Pittsburgh? It's really not so far, I should probably go for a night ...

Stereogum on Mark Kozelek as Troll

I doubt this is going to be controversial here, but as a huge Kozelek fan it was kind of a relief to read something saying what I've been thinking in a mainstream venue.

Ill at Ease might be in my top five Dave songs of all time. Certainly top ten.

Re: Bazan Volume 1

These are good, although Little Landslides is probably my least favorite of the series to date. But still a good song. I finally ordered the vinyl, excited for those to start coming.

I really, really loved Saint Bartlett, but I've pretty much liked all of his releases to some degree.

Re: Acoustics

My first acoustic was an Ovation. Never buy an Ovation. Then I had a mid-range Alvarez dreadnought, that was pretty nice but I got rid of it when I got my Gibson J-100. In the cheaper end of things, I often recommend seeing if you can track down a Japanese (Nippon Gakki) Yamaha, which was favored by...

I looked up Perry's on Union Street in SF using Yelp specifically to see if anyone had written a "Ben's My Friend" themed review, and I was not disappointed. Valerie J. San Diego, CA 4.0 star rating 2/27/2014 Went here on August 3rd with my boyfriend after buying a pair of $350 lampshades...
