Re: I'm up in the woods.

We all did mean shit on this board. We completely cyberbullied that kid Travis who was dealing with going through a transition and coming out as trans. Fucked up. Hell, and you guys made poor timothy feel universally hated as well. :D EDIT: I went back and looked at some of my posts circa 2005 – no...

Re: BAZAN + The Emerging Church = EXPOSED!!!

The guy is kinda nutty – even gets into the Biblical "apocrypha" and all of that. Reminds me of someone who may suffer from schizophrenia or something like that with some of the grandiose-level ideas.

Pedro T-Shirt Contest

Anyone remember the Pedro the Lion t-shirt contest that was around Achilles Heel? I submitted like 10 things to that (clearly I didn't get picked), but I do know someone jacked my sign language idea for a Bazan t-shirt later on down the road. I definitely submitted a sign language PTL shirt during t...

Re: "How Popular Music’s Lyrics Perpetuate American Idiocy"

This topic reminded me of this quote, "I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give thei...

Re: Jacksonville 8/4

SETLIST! :P Just kidding. Dave has been talking about making a slower acoustic/fingerpicking-style album for awhile. I remember one house show at SRock's place in ATX (actually, that show and hanging out in the kitchen afterward....that was epic, much came from that night). This was just pre-Strang...

Re: Jacksonville 8/4

Pretty great show. Had a chance to meet and grab a drink with Michael Nau before the show at a local bar; which was very cool. His set and Dave's were a nice contrast to each other. My highlights: Bands with Managers felt so familiar, nostalgic, and very satisfying. New song Dave played that apparent...

Jacksonville 8/4

Seeing Dave tonight with Michael Nau (been a big fan since Hello, Dear Wind).

I've only seen Dave once which was at Cornerstone(Orlando) many years ago with TW Walsh, so really excited to see him tonight.

Will let everyone know how the show goes. Cheers!

If you're into that sound, Sturgill Simpson's Metamodern Sounds in Country Music is pretty awesome.

Really liking the new stuff. Especially "Sparkling Water." 30 new songs in the next year would be insane.

is anyone else as disappointed with some of the songwriting on the new stuff as I am? some of it has this stream-of-conscious feel that I just really don't care for
