Re: House show dates (2019)

Missed you, sherps. Next time, man. Dave also played Cold Beer and Cigs and it was so good I can't even tell you the last time it was this good. You hear "I'll get to where I'm going pretty soon" with real passion, a new passion. I like the bridge, I think it's an incredible musical momen...

Re: phoenix [01.18.19]

I took a break and didn't listen at all last week, just to give myself a chance to breathe... came back to it this week and I'm still enamored with this album. Can we talk about Model Homes for a second? Particularly, how the hell does Dave sing and play this bass line simultaneously? This shit is ...

Re: So what's new?

yeah every once in a while I go through some old threads and am hit with waves of nostalgia (and disgust at my previous political opinions haha). There were definitely some good discussions on here.

Re: Bazan/Devine split - Dave covers "Thread" by Now, Now

I was surprised Dave even knew who Now, Now was. Their new stuff is pretty bad in my opinion but I used to dig their older stuff (maybe that's more of a reflection on me than them but I'd like to think it's not). This is a pretty great cover though, so raw.

Yeah he's definitely pretty self-critical throughout the entire album and it's great

(btw the song's title might be interpreted as a negative reaction to the original post, definitely not doing that, just posting a Petty song that I think is underrated)

Re: Pedro the Lion news

Is there a PTL song that hasn't been played live in a long time that you're particularly excited about busting out on stage? I'm working on a version of slow and steady that rules pretty hard rn. Also been perusing easy yoke to see if I can pull a "fleecing" on it and sing it again ugh go...

Definitely feeling this new album. Here's a pretty awesome live show where they play most of the album - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TDk83RvooU

Shameless plug

Hey y'all. My band released an album last August and I figured I'd share it on here in case any of you were interested in listening. Here's a link to the album on Bandcamp. Standouts for me are Drains and High-rise.

Ugh, unfortunately decided to listen to a little bit of that, trip back to my former life. What a condescending load of bullshit
